Like the College of Human Ecology at Cornell the College of Human Ecology at Seoul National University was founded on the academic mission of improving the quality of life of individual and household and on the human environment interaction. Seoul is the capital of Korea and the heart of Korea's culture and education as well as politics and economics. It is home to more than ten million people, and is one of the top 10 global cities in the world. Seoul's transportation system is well integrated and efficient, boasting the world's third largest subway system and the number-one rated airport. It has the fastest internet in the world. Modern infrastructure improvements are balanced with the preservation of historical sites with well-kept ancient dynastic palaces, temples, and gates.
