Course and ExcursionsStudents enroll in the following course taught by Trinity College Dublin faculty. Each student's course and grade will appear on a Trinity College Dublin transcript.
Contemporary Global Politics:
All students enroll in a course focusing on contemporary politics before their internship placement begins. The course, which meets at Trinity College Dublin and is taught by their faculty, offers an overview of contemporary topics in international politics, as well as themes related to Irish politics and society. The international system is a complex and constantly evolving environment. Interactions between states and non-state actors, such as multinational corporations and international non-governmental organizations, produce outcomes that we read about every day. This course offers the student a set of theoretical tools to help understand why these outcomes emerge. Local excursions allow students to relate course content to various sites in and around Dublin.
Students participate in a 6-week Dublin internship arranged by EUSA.
From politics to the arts, the EUSA placement team provides a broad spectrum of intellectually engaging internships based on a student’s field of interest, professional goals, and skill set. Internship placements do not have to be related to the Contemporary Global Politics course content. Below are just a few of the industries available in Dublin:
Arts & Culture
Communications & Media
Healthcare & Education
Politics, Law, & NGOs
Housing and MealsStudents live in a Trinity College student residence hall for the duration of the 9-week program. The fully furnished rooms consist of a bed, wardrobe, desk, and shared bathroom, kitchen, living area, and internet connection. Located a short distance from the Dublin city center, the residence hall is easily accessible to Trinity College and all internship placements. Students cook for themselves or eat out in Dublin.
