Study Abroad in Granada
Granada Program

Why Granada?

Granada has cast its spell on travelers for centuries. The last stronghold of Medieval Islam in Europe, the pride of Renaissance kings, the inspiration source for the romantic mind, is now a city with a vibrant university life adorned with monuments and a natural surrounding of incomparable beauty. It is the cultural and academic capital of Andalusia, one of the most attractive regions in Europe, where a great diversity of landscapes blends with a rich history and a passion for its traditions.

The IES Abroad Granada Program

A specially designed academic program that optimizes the opportunities Granada has to offer, its Islamic heritage, its Southern European setting, and a cross of cultures that is unique within the Hispanic world. The program offers two unique program options that are designed to improve your Spanish proficiency:

  • Intermediate Spanish Program
  • Advanced Spanish Program
If you are placed in the Intermediate Program, you will take courses in both English and Spanish. The Advanced Program courses are conducted entirely in Spanish, including study at the University of Granada. Both options introduce you to Spain's Moorish heritage and Jewish past, and its continuing links to North Africa through Arabic, Islam, and North African studies at the University of Granada.
