At CET Harbin, you'll take a step towards near-native fluency. You'll specialize in improving your language skills through a one-on-one language course about a topic of your choice. You'll target diction and error correction in a one-on-two drill course. You'll add breadth to your vocabulary through electives like business Chinese, Chinese newspaper and Chinese literature. A full-time language pledge ensures that Chinese is the sole means of communication for the entire term. This program is perfect for intermediate and advanced language learners who are ready for full immersion. Spring semester students can up the ante by tacking January Term in Beijing onto their study abroad plans.

Harbin Chinese Language Program
The Intensive Language and Independent Research Program for Advanced Learners
Long considered CET's "gem", the
Students who have completed at least four years of college-level Chinese or the equivalent may elect Harbin's "research track". Designed for advanced learners of Chinese, particularly those who are enrolled, or are planning to enroll, in a graduate program, the research track allows students to conduct guided thesis research under the direction of a Chinese faculty member. Research track students also take Classical Chinese, an area of study that prepares them for further research in their chosen field of study. Finally, a composition or pronunciation class rounds out the research track curriculum.
"I'm so glad I chose Harbin. My Chinese has improved tremendously." - Isaac Stone Fish, a former CET Harbin student
"The one-on-one class was invaluable - something you just can't get elsewhere." - Haley Warden, a former CET Harbin student
